PORTER returned to New York in September 2026 with the PORTER LIMITED STORE, a five-day pop-up at 21 Spring Street in Nolita and the brand's first NYC appearance in a year.
PORTER is the flagship label of YOSHIDA & Co., the Tokyo bag maker Kichizo Yoshida founded in 1935. Launched in 1962 and named after the hotel porters who carry travelers' luggage, the line is still hand-assembled and sewn by artisans in Japan, a standard the company has held for more than 90 years. The New York store brought three of its labels under one roof to put that craftsmanship on show.
On the floor, the core PORTER line was represented by the MONOCHROME backpack and the VINIL shoulder bag. POTR showed nine pieces from its RIDE series, and L.L. brought three silhouettes: the OLDNEW shoulder bag, the TRUE BLUE flap shoulder bag and the FILAMENT vertical tote. Collaborations sat alongside the mainline, with the Aurel Schmidt x PORTER capsule and a HELLO KITTY x PORTER range of backpacks and smaller carry pieces. Every bag was displayed on original fixtures designed specifically for the space.
The store also stocked the YOSHIDA & Co. 90 Anniversary BOOK, the house's new official visual book, in both a Collectors Edition and a Library Edition, alongside special items available only at select locations.
