Two Australian artists take over 213 Bowery in NoHo for three days at the end of September with p0rtals, a joint exhibition about what is going on inside their heads.
v? paints dreamlike, girlhood-driven work in series - Dreamscapes, Girlhood_v?, Lovey x v? - and works between Melbourne, Tokyo and New York for an audience of more than a quarter of a million people. Micca is an oil painter who splits her time between New York and LA and sells prints and illustrations alongside the paintings. Putting them in one room is the point: the show is a glimpse into two completely different internal worlds, anchored together by the exploration of inner psychology.
What to expect: work from both artists across the space, a specialty matcha menu from Hawa Matcha each morning from 11am to 2pm, and a photo station by Checkpoint Photos running all weekend. Three days only, and once it closes the work goes back to two Instagram feeds and a pair of online shops.
