HAOR celebrates its first anniversary with Oson Doson, a five-day showcase of Korean modern heritage at 21 Spring Street in Nolita, hosted with the pattern design brand OUWR.
OUWR reinterprets traditional Korean motifs, from cloud and lotus patterns to the painted decoration of Joseon-era architecture, as prints for fashion, home and lifestyle goods. The brand was founded by a hanbok designer with more than three decades of experience and her daughter, Jang Ha-eun, a textile designer trained in Chicago. Its motto is simple: we make patterns from our tradition. HAOR, short for Haus of OUWR, is its platform for Korean fashion, design and art.
What to expect: OUWR's printed drawstring pouches, ruffle-handle bags, ribbon scrunchies, hand fans and knotted pendant scent ornaments, alongside a curated edit of Korean brands including AAROC, Bonee, Dozam, Illung Illung, Kim Byeol Hee, Kour, Kumdanje Artliving and Marverglass. Work from artists Gomari, Onnoobi Project, Seokmoonjin and Studio Jungyeon completes the room.
Opening day also includes a VIP evening on Wednesday, October 14, from 4pm to 9pm.
