DedCool is turning 262 Mott Street in Nolita into a working cafe for three days of New York Fashion Week - its first standalone cafe and retail pop-up in New York - to launch Mocha Magic, the brand's new coffee-and-tonka-bean eau de parfum.
DedCool is a functional fragrance brand founded by Carina Chaz, who grew up in Los Angeles around clean beauty and started mixing scents in her family's lab as a teenager. A decade on, it sells direct and through Sephora, and puts its scents into the things people use every day - eau de parfum, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, hand soap, room spray. The whole line is genderless and built for layering rather than committing to one signature.
Mocha Magic has already been turning up in drink form, with a smoothie at Erewhon and a latte collaboration with The Elk in New York. The Mott Street cafe is the first place the scent and the drinks sit side by side.
What to expect: signature cafe drinks built around the new scent, Mocha Magic to sample, and the full range to shop. There is limited-edition pop-up merch, a gift with purchase, and a special gift for the first 50 guests in line each day. Mocha Magic is $90 and launched on September 14, so this is the first chance to smell it on skin in New York.
Free, walk-in, no RSVP. Come early if you want the first-50 gift.
