Arthur Ashe is an American tennis and lifestyle brand dedicated to the legacy of legendary tennis player, civil rights champion, AIDS activist, youth advocate, and American hero Arthur Ashe. Ashe was the first Black man to win the U.S. Open (1968), the Australian Open (1970), and Wimbledon (1975). A lifelong activist, he changed a nation's perceptions about AIDS and was arrested for protesting outside The White House; he spoke at the UN and broke the color barrier in apartheid South Africa. Through it all, Arthur Ashe was known for his style and cool demeanor on and off the court. A portion of all proceeds from the Arthur Ashe brand go to the Arthur Ashe Legacy Fund at UCLA and Social Change Fund United. This Pop Up will highlight the launch of the first collection and a space to commemorate Arthur Ashe while the U.S. Open is happening.
