I am pleased to share an exhibition of my paintings and works on paper-my first public showing in New York in 10 years-highlighting recent works and ones I'm particularly proud of over that period. This self-sponsored exhibition will present a selective set of paintings, honed over a decade, that use traditional portrait compositions to find enduring figurative representations. The portraits are imaginary or created from found images of the sitters, frequently combining both. Individual works often are reworked and modified over the course of several years-an ongoing process-with the goal of keeping the imprint of their beginnings while searching for elemental lasting representations. The exhibition will be on public view for four days at 2 Rivington Street. You are invited to join a reception party with drinks and music on Saturday, July 24, 6pm-9pm.
