Pia Sawhney is a contemporary American hyper-realistic artist. Self-taught, Pia has been drawing since she could pick up a pencil. Instead of studying art, she pursued a bachelor's degree in economics and finance from NYU to turn her dream of being an artist into a reality.

The American Dream, Room 2018 is Pia's first solo installation, an invitation to step into the often playful, surreal, and dark mood of her paintings. It is a home for her pieces, a twist on plain gallery walls. By constructing the exhibit, Pia seeks to translate her attention to detail and understanding of visual aesthetics on 2D surfaces into filling 3D spaces and creating immersive experiences.
