The COUNTERCULTURE POP-UP: Outcasts, Outlaws and Misfits
NEW YORK, NY – Jena Min, founder of luxe boutique gallery Condemned to Be Free is collaborating with social media maven, Minnie Park to celebrate countercultural fashion, beauty, art and design in a whirlwind six-day pop-up that’s a cross between a carnival reality show and performance theater for graffiti artists. Featured in this highly curated event are
avant-garde prints of kabuki theater performers and a photo book on Japanese LGBTQ culture by Michel Delsol, a photo series on ‘forgotten places’ by Gudrun Georges, skateboard decks featuring artwork by iconic artists Ai Weiwei and JeanMichel Basquiat in partnership with the Skateroom, Topstone limited-edition vaporizers, bad-ass luxury accessories, and
Erbanna will be launching their newest collection of 420-friendly bags. And if you’re a native New Yorker you may recognize the art of local street artist #WhoIsDirk whose work will be featured all over the walls.

Join us in this one-of-a-kind cultural retail experience where you can shop for some seriously cool shit while enjoying hemp-infused chocolate truffles and freshly popped popcorn in a graffiti-art setting. But no counterculture experience is complete without indulging in a cannabis beauty make-over, a henna hand tattoo, a palm reading and perhaps a bootcamp-style workout with ex-cons (to help you get the prison body you always wanted). The event takes place (where else? but) in New York City– once the heart of the underground scene where squatters ruled the East Village and Save the Robots made anarcho-punks like Blyth Power and Thatcher on Acid seem tame in comparison.
This event is open to the public.

No worries if you can’t make it to the pop-up show in person. The entire event will be live-streamed via @counterculturepopup where you can watch and vote on your favorite shows for a chance to win highly coveted prizes!

About Minnie Park
Minnie Park is a sales and marketing stylist who creates social media messaging for Korean beauty brands as well as for brands like Bobbi Brown and L'Oreal. She is founder of MiniB Beauty, a U.S. based cosmetic consulting firm that develops campaigns to work holistically with the brand's business goals. Previously, she wore stilettos and managed relationships for top-tier Wall Street firms. When not staring at data sets or discovering the next big beauty trend, she is busy thinking up new ways to spoil her 5 dogs (who definitely have fancier lifestyles than she does).
