Small Office is happy to announce the 2017 iteration of its curated design show INTRO/NY this May 18 - 21, in correspondence with New York Design Week.
The INTRO concept was launched by smallpond in 2013 as an intimate platform to present a selective cross section of design. The show aims to provide an alternative experience to the standard design trade show environment, by integrating a series of art and design installations into one cohesive exhibit.
This year INTRO/NY will take on the form of an interactive room within a gallery space at 2 Rivington Street, New York, between the hours of 11AM-7PM. Visitors are encouraged to sit, stand, lean, read, recline and admire new and existing pieces by designers Barber & Osgerby for twentytwentyone, Waka Waka, Resident, Anglepoise, Very Good & Proper, Norma Studio, Decode, Massproductions and Modus as well as visual artist Heather Cook.
Glass, wool, velvet, lacquered wood and paper are among some of the materials utilized by the contributors for the show in an effort to create an idyllic respite from the New York Design Week whirl.
